a little of the every day ¦ crochet

last week it started off like this...

then it...

snowed. yeah you read that right...snowed. in May. for 2 days. accumulating about 3-6 inches...
it was a tad depressing.
and my biggest struggle in alberta since moving from vancouver island, 14 years ago. i SHOULD be used to it, but i am not.
i want green and spring flowers...oh how i miss daffodils!
instead of bringing you the tutorial with how to make my daughter's elsa inspired dress, i curled up under blankets, closed my curtains, turned up the heat, crocheted, watched austen movies and drank lots of tea.
so, the dress tutorial will come out this week, in the meantime, i thought i would share some of the crochet projects i am working on...
i bought this amazing little crochet book about a year ago and i am just now starting to feel confident enough to tackle it! it's called austentatious crochet and it's beautiful. any austen lover will truly love this pattern book. i am currently working on lizzy's lace mantelet and cannot wait until it's done!
another project, a new throw blanket for my living room. a super simple pattern i found here, but by changing the hook size down to 6.5mm it's creating this gorgeous texture and adding an equally amazing weight to the blanket!
i also filled some of my time letter writing...i love...LOVE...penning letters to friends!
so while it snowed...and snowed...and snowed some more i pretended otherwise and filled my time with some of my favourite things to do. eventually we will catch up with the rest of the world and sun and warmer temperatures will stick around.

in the meantime...happy monday!!
