celebrating haillee ¦ simple living

"and the child that is born on the sabbath day
is bonny and blithe and good and gay"

it's somewhat staggering what goes through ones head when one's children celebrate birthdays...
especially once the newborn and toddler years go by...
my beautiful, cheeky, independent, stubborn, wild, klutzy, and incredibly determined daughter turns 12 today. 12.
when did she stop being 2? or 5? or 8? when did she start looking more like the young woman she will become and less like the child she was born? point in fact, when did she grow up? and knowing, truly, that she is far from grown up, i still can't help wonder when she became this incorrigibly enchanting person with whom i absolutely and unconditionally love.
happy birthday haillee, may you find your 12th year as magical and enchanting as you, yourself, are!

i love her simplicity...when asked how she wanted to celebrate her birthday she requested to spend it with her best friend and to have dad take her camping so she can fish :)

happy monday!
